hi there,
i have been thinking of getting a crystal(s) for my office and was wondering what people's thoughts might be on what a good crystal would be for this.
i am a female counsellor and i work mainly with men. my office is in a very professional building downtown.
i have a couple of plants and a little fig tree. the office is small but one side is all window from floor to ceiling.
there is an amazing 17th floor view which really affects the mood of the office. im so glad there is a lot of light.
so, that gives an indication of the type of environment it is.
i had obviously thought of amethyst but was wondering what other ideas people might have since i am no expert in this area.
thanks so much for any suggestions.
xo

Re: counselling office
Tue, April 15, 2008 - 6:59 PMmalachite and smokey quartz are good as is at least one obsidian. Rose quartz is always nice, but guys need to be sensatized at a little higher level so I would try mangano calcite. Apopholite clusters are cool, as they contain the water element (emotion). also some sodalite or blue lace agate. I prefer the latter as it also calms. Both are good communication crystals -

Re: counselling office
Tue, April 15, 2008 - 11:28 PMGreen Aventurine: Balanced male/female energy, heart based but not as likely to off put guys as Rose Quartz.
A small piece of Blue Kyanite, or possibly Black Tourmaline: for clearing "static", in theory the Kyanite is self-cleaning.
Citrine: used in conjunction with any stones that absorb negative energy, good for disapating (like Kyanite, but more active).
And aside from crystals, and metaphysics per se, as a guy I find that even a good chunk of Granite in the environment is kind of grounding, and counterbalances potential accusations of "New Age Hippy" from folks pre-disposed in that direction ("Really, I just collect minerals....").

Re: counselling office
Sat, April 19, 2008 - 7:57 PMI second your thought for amethyst - it was the first thing that popped into my head when I saw the topic line. Could do geode bookends or something like that. Other ideas - Apache Tears, moss agate (good grounding, balance of male/female energies, and might connect the artificial environment with nature). I see someone else has already mentioned citrine and black tourmaline. Herkimer Diamond enhances communication, among other things.
For some reason Lepidolite kept coming into mind, and looking it up I see that it has been used to reduce anxiety, depression and anger.

Re: counselling office
Sat, April 19, 2008 - 11:15 PMI have had great success with candle quartz crystals and spirit crystals when working with others. The candle crystals are great for helping with constructive, loving communication between folks. the spirit quartz crystals come in clear, amythyst, citrine, and amytrine! Placed on a mirror they are very beautiful. The candle crystals can be found in large sizes very inexpensive on ebay if none are to be found where you live. The spirits are a bit more pricy. -
