gifting crystals

wow, i gotta say,
i gave away 3 of my crystals last week that needed new homes, and it was nice to see how happy others were to have them.
i thought about selling them and even posted it on my blog i think, but when friends came over, it made much more sense to offer them as a gift. they are beautiful and deserve to have good homes.
i highly recommend this for others who may be needing some cleaning activities.
next i am going to go down to the ocean and burn some incents.

Question about obsidian?

Are there any special quailites associated with obsidian? What I have appears to be a 'gold -sheen' black obsidian egg,how is that different from silver or rainbow sheen obsidian? Or are these 3 basically the same? I've found this stone to be very calming and protective,has eased nightmares in the past, just all around an favorite of mine.I'm just curious about any other attributes with this stone.

crystals that strengthen compassion

i feel that compassion and love are the roots to peace. i have found, crystals are really good at opening up the telepathic and compassionate energies. if we can really feel what another is going thru, we feel their pain and understand we are all at different phases spiritually. when we live with compassion and love, we can open up our hearts to help those who need it instead of pointing fingers.

kunzite has shown me very strongly the meaning of unconditional love and compassion. this crystal gives you the enthusiasm and devotion to live from the heart and really reach out and help others. she shows you that you can love everyone without putting conditions and expectations on them. trusting and accepting they are exactly where they need to be becomes very obvious. she shows you that to help another, you have to really put yourself in their shoes and come from a place of compassion and love.

fossilized horse tooth is a really good mineral for strengthening empathy. she will literally put yourself in another's shoes and show you first hand the journey of that person. fossilized horse tooth is also a strong stimulus for lucid or interdimensional dreaming.

amazonite has shown me that she has a direct connection with the pineal gland. she told me that she will show you that we are all one heart one brain one love.

Azeztulite elixir

I have spent the last three years developing devices that alter water. Mostly these devices employ magnets in a variety of different configurations and also various ways of moving the water within the magnetic field. These can be seen in the links provided on my profile page and also in the photos sections (folder titled "Aero Ormus") of the Yahoo "Ormus" forum. I have also made elixirs by exposing water to the fields of various crystals and minerals and found that with the higher energy stones such as moldavite and the beryls like phenacite and herderite the field is so intense that just bringing the stone close to the water without actual immersion is sufficient to imprint the water with that energy. The potential for toxic leaching of beryllium also argues against immersion of the beryls although the elixir is used in such high dilutions that there is probably no real danger there, but it's nice not to have to even think about the toxic potential if you don't have to.

The past few days I have been working with Aeztulite elixirs and must say that these are probably the most potent elixirs I have ever worked with. They are even stronger than the strongest magnetically altered water I have ever made. This is pretty darn impressive to someone who has been fiddling with altered water for a long time. The latest photo I posted shows an Azeztulite filled glass tube in the process of "making" activated water. Seems like only a few hours of exposure is necessary. One can also just directly immerse Azez stone since it is "just quartz." The water is kick ass, and one can easily "od" on it and get sleepy if it is not diluted sufficiently or taken too often during the day.

Anyway - just thought I would share this and would also like to hear from others about their elixir making techniques and discoveries.

Labradorite

Hi all,

My boyfriend recently bought a labradorite (spelling correct?) for me and it's very nice :) It came with a writing about how it's known as 'the temple of the stars...etc' I felt the stone resonated very well with him and he said that the stone called out to him get it for me after hunting around for a long time. All in all, it's a great gift!

Can any one tell me more about it and how to work with it?

History of "Azeztulite"

I don't want to argue the merits of the Simmons trademarks anymore. I'd just like to know why the output of these particular mines was considered unique in the first place. This quartz looks like "snow" quartz and has no particular esthetic distiction. Are some you saying that this quartz was nonetheless singled out as being unusual for some reason? What did sellers of decades past call it? Why did they call it that, whatever it was?

Why is Robert Simmons trademarking so many crystals???

Hi all,

I just wanted to bring this to peoples attention as I feel it needs to be highlighted and im wondering if anyone else is concerned about this latest trend which seems to be needless and out of control. Ill try and explain all I know and hopefully others will share what they know too.

Up until recently the only stones I knew of that were trademarked were Boji Stones. This was done I believe to authenticate these stones and they were also put through a special activation procedure. Then there was Super Seven, discovered and named by Melody. There is Nebula Stone which again was trademarked by the couple who discovered and named this stone.

Over the last year or so I began to notice quite a lot of crystals on the market that were being trademarked. Satyaloka Quartz, Azeztulite, Nirvana Quartz, Agni Gold Danburite, Satya Mani Quartz, Clear Light Calcite, Gold Sheen Azeztulite, Tanzan Aura, Imperial Gold Aura, Moldau Quartz, Circle Stone and more... What do all these stones have in common? Robert Simmons... For those who dont know, Robert Simmons is the owner of Heaven & Earth Jewelry and the author of several books on crystals, the most well known is The Book of Stones.

I have seen many people selling these crystals online such as on Ebay who have started to not only place the trademark symbol (TM) next to the name of the crystal but also use the TM every time they mention the name of the crystal in the listing! Its like they think they are going to get sued for discussing these stones. I heard that Robert Simmons has 'asked' certain Ebay sellers to stop selling their Azeztulite and Satyaloka Quartz crystals as he is the sole supplier of these crystals and they I assume didnt buy directly from him?

Hmm, I thought Azeztulite had been around for a very long time, I cant remember hearing Robert Simmons name mentioned in connection with this stone till now so I did some research. Azeztulite was named by crystal healer and author, Naisha Ahsian through her channeling work in the early 90s. Although she is a co-author with Mr Simmons on The Book of Stones I didnt see why he would have come to own this tradename. I looked up Azeztulite on the official US Trademark website and found something very interesting. Turns out Robert Simmons was in fact the owner of the trademark Azeztulite, but only since March 2007! This explains why in my Book of Stones (2005) he does not mention any trademarks. In fact if you look up this trademark yourself, the previous owner was someone called Colleen Moran who lost ownership because she died a month after she bought the name. According to the official US trademark website, a week after she lost it "Heaven & Earth" bought it.

Looks like Satyaloka Quartz was also only purchased from Mr Simmons in 2007. Some of the trademarks didnt come up which I can only assume are because they have only recently bought these or the website isnt up to date yet. I recently bought a newly discovered crystal from India called Satya Mani Quartz, I had no idea that it was already trademarked by Robert Simmons at the time. It was only when I bought a second piece somewhere else where it came with a guarantee card. It says "Accept no substitutes" and comes with the following message:

"Satya Mani (TM) Quartz is a trademark of Heaven & Earth LLC. H&E asserts Trademark and Copyright protection for this name and written copy on this card, as well as other explanatory writing about these stones."

Thats a bit general isnt it, what exactly is he saying at the end? Can nobody write about 'your' stones Mr Simmons? Turns out in the latest edition of his book he has highlighted which stones he owns the trademark on and out of all the new crystals added to this revised edition, only one was not trademarked by him! There is a debate about this in the reviews on Amazon.com. Dont get me wrong I loved his book and I like these crystals but the trademarking seems to have spiraled out of control and seems to be more about getting the monopoly on new crystals. I dont hear a spiritual teacher any more I just see the actions of someones ego on overdrive.

The crystal world is important to me and I dont want it turning into a control system with people at the top making big money and using fear to make sure we only buy from them. I dont think im the only one whos starting to get sick of this trademarking and copyrighting of mother earths gifts. There is only so much crystal lovers will take of this before there is a backlash. I have noticed that some of his stones are already becoming known under alternative names... Nirvana Quartz a new crystal from the Himalayas trademarked by you know who. I still dont understand if the locals realise he sells these on under this name or if he has somehow managed to buy a Himalayan mountain ;) But I do know that stones from the same place are being sold under the peoples name of Himalayan Ice!

The main question is, is trademarking crystals even ethical? Do we really need need trademarks on our crystals? Why is Robert Simmons trademarking so many stones other than to fill his bursting bank account? Excuse me if im wrong but to my knowledge, NOBODY OWNS CRYSTALS BUT MOTHER EARTH!

HELP! I need identification from an expert on these stones!.

I listed two necklaces on Ruby Lane with what the supplier sold it to me as ~ and it was not what I was told it was. I have confirmed that it was inaccurate. Now I need to identify it correctly so as to list it accurately. Actually I have two different stones that I need help with. Please! If anyone can help me out, I would very much appreciate your expertise.

The last one obviously is different than the other two. I've been told that the first two could be spider web carnelian or crab agate. The third one, too, could be either of those two. Or the first two could simply be Mexican Golden Agate.

Merkabite calcite

Recently I acquired some merkabite calcite which has an enthusiastic write up in The Book of Stones which I think it deserves. It's a third eye or higher chakra stimulator but with a softness to it. I would like to find some more with which to gift people, but since I don't do the shows I don't really have a network of sellers to which I can turn. The pieces I recently got came from a very knowledgeable seller in England, but even he gets it only sporadically, and it would be nice to find a supplier in the USA from which the stone originates in the first place. Any ideas out there?

Continuing the Robert Simmons Trademark Query...

I'd advise reading the original post FIRST by Lyrissa on Robert Simmons effort to trademark crystals. It was closed to new entries due to space limitations. I want to applaud all who responded, for it reflects the growing awareness of many others out there who are truly seeking authentic information to resonate with.

There is one value that I felt was missed in the prior discussion. It relates to the polaristic nature of 'manifesting reality' though our 'human consciousness'. Say wha? Hang in there folks, there is an interesting point to be made:

Lyrissa's original post not only queried Robert Simmons actions but also, on another level, queried as to how each of us co-creates with Earth. Our questionable 'hand' in trade marking, mining and selling crystals poses a far greater message for us all to ponder. It IS important that we occasionally question those who have risen to the top of any industry – as to whether they have kept their spiritual integrity or have somehow lost themselves and temporarily fallen to the lower-conscious behavior of human greed for more profit.

Money is a human concept only. It is not of the Earth or of spiritual value. Humans are trapped in their concept of its exchange and this is where all of the darker human behaviors manifest, for all to see. (Polarity, bingo!)The crystal industry is but yet another reflection of our separatist thinking, which is a human affliction that needs to be healed. Those who have made it to the top of any kind of perceived 'human success' ladder, especially those in the spiritual markets, are still constantly vulnerable to the temptations of their darker soul sides.

I too have been a crystal admirer for some time now. I have read all the spiritually channeled books on crystal consciousness, for like many of you; my soul felt the nudge of seeking beyond what we've all been taught. I think it is imperative to look at the entire human activity surrounding crystals and see that it is all a reflection of our current state of collective human consciousness.

All of us have bought into a system of chi exchange called MONEY. The money, acquisition of it, things we can buy with it and celebrity status some of us use to get more of it is an illusion of separateness we have ALL bought into. It is a reflection of human consciousness we must break out of if we are to truly evolve. Crystal trade shows and it's correlating industry of 'spiritually channeled information', as well as the go-green Earth friendly industry and the holistic & integrative healing industry is yet another playground where human greed and ill willed tactics for lying to one another and cheating one another serves no purpose in the ultimate reason why we are all here in the first place. But it occurs nonetheless, because we are all evolving and growing and many, many human beings are making mistakes along the way. Human beings have simply shifted their bad 'split consciousness' behaviors to a new play land - called spiritual awareness.

Crystals, at least most of them are not here for humans. They are here to help Earth consciousness grow in her own right. We humans keep forgetting that Earth too is conscious and evolving. We keep thinking of her as this 'thing' we can dig into and steal from and manipulate. Crystals help hold Earth's auric fields stable so that her physical grounds remain stable. Humans have not only forgotten this, they have completely forgotten that they too are vibrational beings in physical form. To disturb Earth’s vibrational fields is to ultimately cause imbalance to ourselves and our ‘living reality’. This is why so many people resonate to crystals – because crystals hold extremely high vibrations and we are always attracted to that which is greater than us. We are trying to grow in consciousness. That’s what evolvement IS: the urge to grow and expand. Much of the consciousness within the crystals is what we call extraterrestrial and various crystal species are here by contract with Earth, simply to help her evolve.

We humans gravitate to crystals not because of the silly 'mental' information we trade with one another about them - but because MOST OF US innately feel a heart-felt resonance or vibrational affinity with them. True spiritual awareness and it's consequent behavior is about trusting the innate connection over the 'human only' need to gain wealth from them or covet rights to Earth properties that do not belong to us in the first place.

Human beings in their present state of 'separatist perception' mimic over and over again, their quest to covet and own that which does not belong to them. The crystal industry suffers from the same sickness all other for-profit human created industries do - whether it be a government’s quest for oil, or an individual’s quest for personal wealth above and beyond others. It's is really all the same thing - dark separatist thought manifesting in each and every thing that humanity touches.

Any of us who engage in buying or selling crystals, or sharing metaphysical knowledge with one another TEND to act according to what 'other so-called authoritative humans' have claimed. Who labeled them this in the first place? This tendency to ‘follow and repeat’ is not responsibly culling SELF KNOWLEDGE. It is merely copycat mentality in order to duck individuated soul responsibility. I have seen dozens and dozens of websites that jumped on the bandwagon, using Melody's channeled descriptions to enhance the sale of their rocks. Did any of these people seek individually to work with rock consciousness via their own souls? NOT VERY MANY! This is a prime example of how slippery we humans are – even the ones who try to be true spiritual warriors.

Robert Simmons may have started out doing good authentic soul work. There is the possibility that he's lost touch with what the original intent was, after all, how rich above and beyond others do we REALLY have to be? And just how do spiritual minded 'light workers' endeavor to keep themselves in spiritual check? This is the question each of us needs to pay attention to because we are all co-creators of this crystal issue. We either buy from others the crystals, or we sell to others the crystals or we buy into another’s version of what a crystal is. What does each of us individually, on a soul level contribute? Do we copy from what others have written and do we add to the shame of promoting gems based on bandwagon mentality so we can get more money in our individual pockets? We are all guilty of acting out of our forgotten spiritual heritage.

Were all of us collectively of the mind that the acquisition of MONEY for ourselves, is a nonsense quest to begin with, we might just LEARN how to behave integrally with one another because we'd FINALLY and COLLECTIVELY understand we are part of the whole - Earth, crystals, humans, animals & the elements. But humanity has a ways to go before it becomes truly aware. In the meantime, it is our spiritual duty as individuated souls; to constantly self monitor our thoughts, our motives and our reasons for doing things.

There is no true authority in this human illusion we entertain ourselves with, just as is there is no accountable measure of true human professionalism. Each of us living in the 'human only' perception is distorted in our thinking because we've all given an aspect of our own self power away to the system others have created for us to live by. True pioneers and real co-creators of planet Earth do not bow to human concepts. They walk to their own beat and the truly evolved ones (rare as they may be) cannot succumb to human greed because they are SO UTTERLY CONNECTED to unity consciousness that it would be unperceivable for them to practice anything other than constant unity consciousness – for the good of the whole. These individuals are usually NOT found at the top of the human success heap.

It is so common for those who have risen to the top of their chosen vocations to fall based on some distorted personal notion that they are attempting to do great spiritual work for the planet. Robert Simmons may or may not be one of those people. Yet the whole point of our witnessing the human failings of others is for each of us to see it, question it, recognize it for what it is and then step up to the plate, go inside and manifest what comes through our own souls…because we came here to do just that.

With that in mind….

The crystal industry is merely a reflection of yet another ‘human’ attempt to grasp and covet that which it does not yet understand. Individuals such as Robert Simmons and others like him, who attempt to put ‘legal human business ownership’ on creations to corner a monetary market on natural creations that belong to ALL living beings, human and otherwise, can spin out of control in their own distorted ideas of keeping 'quality' and purity about their work. It happens all the time. This is why it important for us to ask of one another what is true soul integrity? What is true co-creatorship with Earth? What is true soul ownership and am I truly responsible and integral in all of my thoughts and actions…regardless of whether many others around me are not?

This is part of the vibrational message of the crystal kingdom. Much of the crystal world vibration is so high that many of the people who own them cannot even utilize the values of them, even though they read about them in Melody’s book. So they covet them in houses and closets, which keep the crystals often from doing what they are meant to do. Most people pass the ‘metaphysical banter’ along and yet can’t click in to the crystals they ‘own’ because there is such a vibrational mismatch to begin with. It is much like walking past a still closed early morning bakery, where you can smell the aroma wafting from the baker’s kitchen but you can't yet eat one. THIS is our attraction to the crystals.

They resonate at levels we are trying to recall within ourselves. Those of us who are trying to remember our infinite spirituality have a duty to behaviorally uphold integral ideas – because we folks are the true spiritual icons - not the guys who have made it to the top of the human success ladder already. After all, it is we who placed them there thru their books that we bought, or their crystals that we acquired.

Each of us needs to recognize that as we read the words from the so-called pioneers of our times such as Melody, Robert Simmons and others in the open spiritual market, that they are merely humans who often make human mistakes along the way. Each of us needs to pick it up a notch and challenge our SELVES as to ‘other’s thoughts’ we have bought into and are trying to ‘profit from’ in some way. Robert Simmons may have authentic claim to ideas that came thru his soul at one time. He also may have some spiritual waking up to do still when it comes to trying to gain wealth by greedy means. It costs a lot to legally trademark names and isn’t that just buying into the human created system of ‘money equals power exchange’?

We all buy into the crappy non-spiritual human system at some level, but sharing with one another our questions and ideas will help put all the cosmic pieces of our living reality together eventually. We just have to REMEMBER that the challenge is all about our own individuated soul responsibility. Don’t buy more Robert Simmons books. Write your own! Make sure the info comes through YOU. Balance the inequities of ‘separatist human doings’ of others by taking what steps you alone can do to contribute to the balance of the planet. I think Lyrissa was brave in laying out a question for others to ponder. None of us know the power of a single ripple we send out into the universe. Sometimes, one simple honest question can set the process of restorative balance back into motion.

One last thought y’all…

Perhaps we should also keep an awareness of how many crystals we actually pull out of Earth. We wouldn’t want to go making her completely unstable in the name of attaining our ‘spiritual awareness’ now would we?

This is another inquiry along the lines of the discussions concerning Azeztulite ("just quartz") and Andara crystal ("just glass.")
I am one of that large crowd of crystal heads who responds dramatically to the tectite moldavite (just glass) and I am wanting to branch out into other tectites especially the Tibetan tectites which are somewhat scarce. It has now been determined that the tibetan tectites resulted from the same impact event that created the more numerous and less expensive indochinites from SE Asia, yet some sensitives claim that the tibetanites have a grooovier energy perhap from being exposed to the high vibes of Tibet. I would love to hear from anyone out there who is up on their tectites and their relative energies.

This recent discussion we've been having about Azeztulite has reminded me of another "crystal" or rather glass in this case that is somewhat controversial and with which I have no experience so far - Andara Glass or Andara Crystal. As with Azeztulite, there are plenty of people who think that Andara is "just glass," and that it is actually just dumped bottle slag while there are others who shout its energetic virtues to the moon.
After my recent exposure to Azeztulite which was also being widely called "just quartz" but which had a unique energy with which I could identify, I am now wondering if I should take a chance on Andara - expensive as it is - and try to get some from the genuine source. The story with Andara is similar to the story about Azeztulite having been impregnated with unusual energy. So, let me hear from everybody pro or con. Thanks

Zinnwaldite is a new one for me. Feels something like the lithium micas such as lepidolite mica but with a litle more electricity to it. It is sometimes associated with tin, and I think my piece is showing tin or something metallic anyway. This could just be mica however. It does not cleave like mica but is micacious. Anyone else grokking zinnwaldite?

hi there,

i have been thinking of getting a crystal(s) for my office and was wondering what people's thoughts might be on what a good crystal would be for this.

i am a female counsellor and i work mainly with men. my office is in a very professional building downtown.
i have a couple of plants and a little fig tree. the office is small but one side is all window from floor to ceiling.
there is an amazing 17th floor view which really affects the mood of the office. im so glad there is a lot of light.

so, that gives an indication of the type of environment it is.

i had obviously thought of amethyst but was wondering what other ideas people might have since i am no expert in this area.

trying to figure out what kind of rock I have

I have this beautiful rock landscaped all around my house. I cannot find any info online about it. It is in the rough. There are layers and layers of different color, mostly red/orange,brick,and clear/silky and white almost iridescent layers throughout. I live in Southern Oregon and haven't seen this rock around here in nature, but I would imagine it would be from here because of how much there is here and the large pieces .
I went to some gem stores around town and they are no help at all. They always whip out the same book and look clueless. So far I thought maybe carnelian ,but I don't know what that looks like in its raw state. I really don't think its Oregon Opal either.

Does anyone know where I can get pics of rocks,minerals in the rough online?

I recently bought a friend of mine a carnelian pendant. Immediately upon seeing it, he was very attracted to it and expressed a great deal of interest in the stone. I went back to the store a few days later and bought it for him. Now, he tells me he's never felt so connected to a stone. I've done some research on the properties of carnelian, but I was wondering what your experiences have been with it, as much of what I've read does not seem to apply to his needs... (i.e. he's always been a very motivated and creative person, is already very couragous, etc...) I just thought this was interesting since usually people are attracted to stones who's properties are things that they need in some way, and I just don't see it here.... Any thoughts??

I haven't posted here is SO long and I wanted to get back into doing so and I figured a great way would be to share my fiance's jewelry with people that would truly appreciate it. I'm sure most of you have seen wire wrapped crystal jewelry before, but my fiance is one of about 8 artist who are truly in a category all their own. He uses not only sterling and fine silver wire, but also all karats of gold including yellow, green, red, pink, and white and has done some amazing pieces incorporating Iridium Platinum. You can check out his work on myspace, as the website will not be finished until the end of February. He uses only AAA top quality stones from around the world, focusing mostly on faceted stones, but he has been know to put some badass pieces of tourmaline in his pendants as well. I just got super excited when we got in these neon blue and purple tourmalines in from a new find in Taqueral. I'll try and post pictures at some point, but let me just say they are fucking amazing. Anyway... he makes customs very often for people needing specific stones to be carried with them for healing purposes and usually puts lot of Herkimer's in every piece as well, as they are perfect generator crystals (amplifies the energy they are near). quartz crystal becomes cloudy..

I was gifted with a clear quartz crystal almost a year ago. And would hold it in my hands for healing on the occasion.
It has been a many mos. since I looked at the crystal until week ago when I noticed that this once clear crystal has
become 1/2 cloudy on the bottom!
Is this a sign of quantum physics manifesting?? :)
It's always been stored on my alter resting in a dish where there isn't exposure to anything/elements that i'm aware of.

If I'm missing some possible environmental issues, or energetic problems.. could anything cause a quartz to alter it from being clear to cloudy (colorless)?
I'm beginning to wonder if this has trapped some energy or a sign that something is wrong from the people who gave me the quartz.

Lemurian Seed Crystal

For the last month or so I've felt a crystal calling me from our local store. Everytime I'd get a few extra dollars, I'd feel a pull to the store to buy a crystal.
Yesterday I finally made it to the store and discovered that it was going out of business. Everything was on sale, so I looked around at the books and crystals. Then I felt my crystal calling me from the display case. As I got closer to the display, my hands began to radiate Reiki energy. I held my hand over the crystals and picked up a quartz extraction crystal. It wasn't the one. Then I felt it-my crystal ended up being a Lemurain Seed Crystal. When I picked it up I felt an intense vibration of energy radiate from the crystal.
This crystal is the most powerful crystal I've ever experienced. It's energy is amazing and so strong. I'm glad that my crystal found me in time.

energy body integration/ overwhelming energy

The two things that I am finding that are really important to me is to become fully present and to have my energy bodies fully integrated. Maybe I am dealing with karmic issues that pull me out of the present, but I'm sure there are other factors as well. But I want to be present with all of my bodies and have them working together and communicating well.

The other thing I'm working on is being able to handle energy. It feels like I'm too open for my circutry. Maybe my circutry got kind of fried with psychadelics. But I can catch a wave of energy and it will send me into orbit. I would rather be able to process it and hold it and stay here on earth. I also want to be able to contain the spiritual energy I am cultivating. I seem to let it go.

Any thought on helpful stones, etc appreciated.

Crystals for breast cancer.

I just recieved news that my mom started chemotherapy two weeks ago, after being re-diagnosed with breast cancer. She is in the forth stage and it has already travelled into her lymph nodes.
I have been doing sittings, visualizing her as the flame with an aura of protection around her...burning away anything that is trying to attack her system. I've also been surrounding her with Archangel Raphael's energy...and emerald green.

i just recently bought some beautiful charoite square beads (7) and made a lovely necklace to wear. Anyway, since Ive been wearing it, about a week now, I feel this very odd cold-tight sensation on the top of my head (basically the crown) It feels like there is a block of ice sitting up there and its very cold but not painful. At first i thought it was the cold weather where i live (sunshine coast bc) and we've had some tremendous storms with loss of power that led to some cold days and nights with extra layers of clothes......so my point is that its been cold and I just thought it was that........however its now much warmer and the sensation is still there!!!! even more pronounced,.......so I am wondering if it could be the charoite as that just occured to me as i was thinking and feeling this odd sensation..........so your input would be welcome about the possibilities..its very strange.......I havent taken the necklace off since I first put it on......i should take it off to see if it stops........i will after i read some responses! thank you in advance Peace and Love

has anyone here tried to make their own? Planning to start the process on the full moon and was curious about other folks experience in creating these.
I've had such nice responses to the alaskan gem elixirs that I thought I would try to make my own, to use separately or to add to potions I plan on creating for holiday gifts!

Please help me identify this stone!

I posted a request for someone to identify a stone that I had purchased in a bulk order. Please refer to that post: "Identity Crisis" and give me your expert opinion. I had one person email me their opinion: Larimar. However, even though my research on larimar showed a photo of a rough cut larimar that looked exactly the same as the stones I have, I don't believe it is because of the drilled hole through the nuggets for stringing purposes. My impression from what I read is that it would 'fall apart' if drilled in that manner. Any comments? Still haven't had anyone tell me if there is a way to actually post the photo of that stone in a message such as this. ???

Identity Crisis

I bought all the stones from a person who is no longer going to do jewelry, and I can't identify some stones that I used to make a necklace. They are a light turquoise color, look rough cut but are faceted and in irregular shapes. There are white inclusions as well. She indicated they were opal but I don't think so. They almost look like a poor quality of Aquamarine to me. Could someone please click on this link to see if you know what it is? (Can a person post a picture on a discussion message? - if so, how?)

I don't want to list this necklace until I know what the major stone is. HELP!

having babies

A number of the crystals in our shop are developing what we call babies (little points growing off of sides and tips) we even have an Atlantian Cathedral with a few. Anyone else seeing this??? They seem to almost show up overnight.

Peridot

I was sitting in a lecture the other day on metamorphic geomorphism and somehow the proff mentioned Peridot and I felt a strong surge of energy ripple through me. I've always been drawn to Peridot.

My copy of Love Is In The Earth is half a world away. Could someone please post what Melody has to say about Peridot, I'm curious. Does anyone else have a strong attraction to this beautiful green mg nesosilicate?

Gemstone Identification-is it real?

What is the best book or resource that is easy for a novice in gemology to refer to so that their potential purchases or past purchases of gemstones are easily identifiable. In particular, I don't want to misrepresent what I am selling in the way of jewelry. I sometimes can't remember or find the label identifying the gemstone so that I can be accurate in my description of the composition of a necklace. I have a book, but it shows a crystal or gemstone in the 'rough' and I can't identify a stone that is polished or ready for attachment to a jewelry piece by the photo. Is there such a book so I know for sure I am stating the correct name for a finished gemstone? I'm also very concerned about the authenticity of a semi-precious gemstone that I have purchased from even a reputable online store such as Rio Grande or a highly rated e-bay seller or supplies seller on Etsy. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Metals and crystals

Would a copper chain enhance the properties of crystals being worn next to the body? What about Gold-plated metal, sterling silver and others? And for those who are not in favor of combining tumbled crystals with metals, what other jewelry-making materials would allow the wearer to receive the full healing benefit of the crystal? Is there such a thing as a "neutral metal"?

Secret Saline Crystals-

I overheard these alienesc road warriors talking about a crystal that doesn't form on Earth because it is too young.
However it is synthisized by a highly intelligent being somwhere in space and somehow some of it has made it's way to earth.
The coolest thing that i overheard was that these crystals are formed from the same material that makes thoughts and human life possible.
Saline being the essential ingrediant in electro-magnetic pulses. So apparently they vibrate at the exact same harmonic as us and are very conductive of thoughts and feelings.

Cancer and Stones

I am going to begin working on a friend that has a form of cancer. I will be doing Reiki and perphaps some kundalini energy work on him but I find that stones are very useful in combination with the energy work. Does anyone know what stones would be most helpful?

Natural Vs. Synthetic or Grown Quartz

Hello Everyone:

I just signed up today and find that this tribe is a source of great use. Could anyone tell me if Grown or Synthetic Quartz (Grown in an Autoclave) is as good as natural Quartz. My thinking is that if it is gown by man or atrificialy, it would't have the same properties as the Natural grown from the earth.

I'm in the brainstorming stages of creating a unique line of chakra jewellry, with an emphasis on using tumbled crystals/beads to balance the root chakra ;) . I'd like to receive some feedback on what you would like to see in chakra jewellry, what materials would be best to use, etc. I know there's been some debate regarding using wire wraps for crystals, but I'd like to create something that is functional and asthetically pleasing for both men and women. Crystals in gardens

I dunno, I've had this odd idea about putting some of my crystals out in the garden near specific plants. Is this completely out in the wild blue yonder, or has anyone ever heard or done anything like this? A lot of my "gem work" tends to be purely instinctual, and so far it's worked well that way, but I'm wondering if anyone else has any experience in combining plants and crystals together in any form or function.

Advice re new stone

Hey all,

I am so excited, I just found this guy at the fair and he has a pile of rocks...so you pick the rock and pay and he cuts right there and you get what you get....anyway...damn I got a good one it has amethyst, calcite, agagate...and a little geode..that was forming inside it...was a prize...my question...do you all think I need to cleanse the stone...my thoughts are it is so pure because it hasn't reallyy been processed or handled...except the guy that opened it...and I like the smell of the earth still on it...what do you all think???

darn. I had me 4 rings in such a short amount of time, and they keep crumbling.
Any way to hinder this. Put a bond over the ring?? Or just not wear them on my finger??
